The Longest Premier League Scoring Streaks in History: Arsenal's 55-game record remains untouchable

Image
The ability to score consistently ranks among the most valuable attributes of any football team. Throughout Premier League history, several clubs have managed to create impressive runs of consecutive matches with at least one goal scored. Arsenal 2001-2002: Untouchable record of 55 games The record for the longest streak of consecutive Premier League matches with a goal belongs to Arsenal by a considerable margin. While the Invincibles of 2003-04 are more celebrated, Arsène Wenger's 2001-02 title winners achieved something that remains unmatched - they scored in every single one of their 38 league matches. The streak began after disappointment from a goalless draw against Newcastle. Ashley Cole started the scoring run with a goal in a 3-2 defeat at Southampton. After winning the title with 100% scoring success in 2001-02, the streak finally ended on 7 December 2002 with a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford, where Thierry Henry came close to extending the run. Manchester City vs Tottenham: Match Prediction - Guardiola or Frank to Continue Successful Start?

Image
24 August 2025, Etihad Stadium Both teams started the new Premier League season with victories and now face off at the Etihad Stadium. The Opta supercomputer gives Manchester City a 61.7% chance of victory in Saturday's clash. City in impressive form Pep Guardiola's team leads the table after the first round thanks to a convincing 4-0 win at Wolverhampton. Since the start of April, City have collected more points than any other team (26) and remain unbeaten in this period (8 wins, 2 draws). Their defensive work is particularly impressive - they have the most clean sheets (7) and face the fewest shots per game of all teams in the division (7.6) since April. Erling Haaland scored twice against Wolves and is approaching a historic milestone - he could become only the second player in Premier League history to score 50 home goals in fewer than 50 appearances (currently 48 goals in 48 games). Tottenham as problematic opponent Despite City's dominance, Guardiola will be...

Tottenham Hotspur vs Burnley: Key Statistics Before Opening Round

Image
16 August 2025 Brennan Johnson enters the new season as Tottenham's biggest scoring threat after becoming the team's top league scorer last season with 11 goals. The Welsh forward also has an excellent record against newcomers - he scored four goals in his last two league matches against newly promoted teams, making him a key player for today's encounter. Tottenham's new signing Mohammed Kudus brings another dimension to the team. The Ghanaian midfielder averaged 2.2 fouls won per 90 minutes in last season's Premier League and demonstrated consistency by winning at least two fouls in seven of his last nine league starts. His ability to disrupt opposition play could be crucial in difficult moments of the match. Burnley will rely on the offensive strength of Zian Flemming, who dominated the EFL Championship with an average of 2.9 shots per 90 minutes. However, the Dutch midfielder must be careful with discipline - he averaged 2.1 fouls conceded per match. Interest...

Another Transfer Between Arsenal and Chelsea: Which Premier League Teams Have Shared the Most Players?

Image
Noni Madueke looks set to become the latest player to play in the Premier League for both Arsenal and Chelsea. But how many players have previously done so, and how does that compare to other pairs of clubs in the competition? Madueke Heading to Arsenal It's expected Noni Madueke will make the short journey across London to join Arsenal from Chelsea before the start of the 2025-26 Premier League season. Some Arsenal fans have expressed their annoyance at their club giving yet more money to their London rivals for a player deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. Before Kepa Arrizabalaga's move this summer, Kai Havertz was the last to make the switch back in June 2023 for a reported fee of £65m, while Jorginho made the same journey from south-west to north London only six months earlier. Arsenal and Chelsea: 15 Shared Players Havertz and Jorginho help make up a group of 15 players who have played for both Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League, joining t...

Mohammed Kudus: Elite Dribbling Brings New Dimension to Tottenham

Image
Tottenham Hotspur lacked an elite dribbler until they completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham this week. We assess what he could bring to north London. Why are Spurs signing Kudus? The short answer is simple. They don't have much in the way of exceptional dribblers, and new manager Thomas Frank clearly wants to add one to their attack. Kudus is a genuinely elite dribbler. Only Jeremy Doku of Manchester City completed more dribbles (107) in the Premier League last season than Kudus (92). On a per-90 basis, too, only Doku (6.4) could better Kudus (3.2) among players with at least 1,000 minutes under their belt. It's also noteworthy that Doku was playing for a team who saw a hell of a lot more of the ball and did a hell of a lot more attacking than Kudus' West Ham. Doku averaged 71.9 touches of the ball per 90, while Kudus had just 52.2. Aggressive Dribbling Style Kudus looks to beat a man remarkably often. He admits that he can't help but try and ta...

LONDON CURSE OF SPURS: NICOLAS JACKSON CONTINUES GOAL SHOW AGAINST POSTECOGLOU'S NIGHTMARE

Image
Chelsea – Tottenham Hotspur April 3rd, 2025 Chelsea has Tottenham figured out like an open book. The Blues have lost only one of their last 12 Premier League matches against their London rival, winning the last three duels with an impressive score of 10:4. Stamford Bridge has become a nightmare for Spurs, and manager Ange Postecoglou could establish an unflattering record - no Tottenham manager in history has lost his first four league games against Chelsea. Chelsea's historical dominance is stunning. Against no other opponent have the Blues won more matches (36) and scored more goals (120) in the Premier League than against Tottenham. Only three teams in the history of the competition have scored more goals against one specific opponent - Arsenal and Manchester United against Everton and Liverpool against Newcastle (all 124). Tottenham has significant problems with London derbies this season. With just 10 points (3 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses), they are, together with Bre...
