The Longest Premier League Scoring Streaks in History: Arsenal's 55-game record remains untouchable
The ability to score consistently ranks among the most valuable attributes of any football team. Throughout Premier League history, several clubs have managed to create impressive runs of consecutive matches with at least one goal scored.
Arsenal 2001-2002: Untouchable record of 55 games
The record for the longest streak of consecutive Premier League matches with a goal belongs to Arsenal by a considerable margin. While the Invincibles of 2003-04 are more celebrated, Arsène Wenger's 2001-02 title winners achieved something that remains unmatched - they scored in every single one of their 38 league matches.
The streak began after disappointment from a goalless draw against Newcastle. Ashley Cole started the scoring run with a goal in a 3-2 defeat at Southampton. After winning the title with 100% scoring success in 2001-02, the streak finally ended on 7 December 2002 with a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford, where Thierry Henry came close to extending the run.
Tottenham 2023-2024: Modern success with 39 games
Following a 1-0 defeat at Wolverhampton in March 2023, which was the third-to-last game of Antonio Conte's reign, Spurs opened the floodgates. Under Ange Postecoglou's leadership, the team promised attacking football and delivered on that promise.
Spurs scored in their final 12 games of the 2022-23 season and continued for another 27 matches under the Australian manager. They became only the second team in history to score in a full season's worth of Premier League games (38) before the streak ended in a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
Liverpool: Repeated success
Liverpool appears four times in the rankings. Their longest streak of 36 games from 2019-2020 helped secure their first title in 30 years. Under Jürgen Klopp, the team won 26 of their first 27 matches of the season, drawing only 1-1 with Manchester United.
Current Liverpool under Arne Slot has an active 36-game streak that began with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth in September 2024 and continues into the new season.
Brighton: Surprising strength
Among the most impressive records is Brighton's 32-game streak from 2023. Under Roberto De Zerbi, the team scored in each of their final 16 games of 2022-23 and first 16 games of the following season, despite being in their fifth Premier League season.
Historical context
In the overall history of English top-flight football, Arsenal still holds the record with 55 games, followed by historical streaks from Manchester City in 1936-37 (44 games) and 1957-1958 (43 games).
