VERSTAPPEN AND NORRIS IN FLORIDA SHOWDOWN: MIAMI GP PROMISES THRILLING SPECTACLE

Miami International Autodrome, Florida, USA

Formula 1 moves from the desert conditions of Jeddah straight to sunny Florida this weekend. The Miami Grand Prix, one of the newest and most attractive stops on the F1 calendar, promises an exciting battle between the dominant Max Verstappen and an increasingly stronger McLaren team.

Saturday's qualifying confirmed the excellent form of reigning world champion Max Verstappen, who secured pole position ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris. The surprise of the day is the third position of young talent Kimi Antonelli, who dominated Friday's sprint qualifying. Verstappen's main challenger this season, Oscar Piastri in the second McLaren, finished only fourth.

Qualifying took place 15 minutes later than originally planned after the delayed sprint, but on a dry track. Verstappen dominated both attempts in the third part of qualifying, and although Norris came significantly closer in the final attempt, it wasn't enough to beat the "Flying Dutchman."

The Miami circuit is a unique project - a temporary track built entirely around Hard Rock Stadium, home of NFL team Miami Dolphins. Drivers will complete 57 laps on the 5.412-kilometer track with 19 corners and three DRS zones for easier overtaking. After the experiences from the inaugural 2022 season, the track surface was completely replaced by renowned company Tilke. The average speed on the circuit is around 223 km/h, and the record has been held by Max Verstappen since 2023 with a time of 1:29.708.

This year's edition promises another chapter in the thrilling battle between Verstappen and the McLaren team. While Verstappen won the first two Miami GPs, last year Lando Norris claimed his first Formula 1 victory here. The British driver managed to beat the favored Verstappen, who finished second ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

After five races of this season, the battle for the championship title remains open, and Miami could be a key moment indicating which direction the championship will take. Red Bull is no longer as dominant as in previous seasons, and McLaren and Ferrari are getting increasingly closer.

The Miami GP is not just about racing - it's a complete show in American style. This year, the paddock is located directly inside Hard Rock Stadium on the playing field, offering fans a unique experience. The organizers have prepared a rich accompanying program including concerts, gastronomic experiences, and meetings with drivers.

Max Verstappen has an excellent record in Miami - he won two of the three editions and has always finished on the podium. However, Lando Norris has proven that he can beat him, and he starts from the front row this year. Let's not forget the qualifying surprise Kimi Antonelli and other Ferrari and McLaren drivers who will want to join the fight for victory.

The race begins on Sunday, May 4 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time (22:00 Central European Time), so fans can prepare for an exciting evening spectacle.
