FK Teplice - 1. FC Slovácko

Na Stínadlech Stadium, Teplice, Czech Republic

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, FK Teplice will face 1. FC Slovácko in the playoff round of the Chance Liga. The clash between teams from the relegation group promises an interesting confrontation of different seasonal trajectories and statistical peculiarities.

FK Teplice have won both games against Slovácko in this Chance Liga season. If the "Glassmakers" beat Slovácko in their playoff match, Slovácko will become only the second team that Teplice have defeated three times in a single Czech league season, after Slovan Liberec last season. For the North Bohemian club, this is an opportunity to achieve a rare historic hat-trick of wins against a single opponent.

  1. FC Slovácko have collected just 34 points in this Chance Liga season, which is the lowest at this stage since the league reform in the 2018-19 season. Nevertheless, Slovácko (4 wins, 3 draws) along with Mladá Boleslav (2 wins) are the only teams in the history of the relegation round without a single loss. This statistic shows a significant improvement in form for the Moravian side in the playoff phase.

Coach Zdenko Frťala fielded the youngest starting lineup in the history of the relegation round in the last Chance Liga matchday against Mladá Boleslav - players were on average 23 years and 90 days old. Furthermore, only Slovan Liberec has a younger starting eleven on average (24 years and 251 days) than Teplice (24 years and 324 days). The North Bohemian club is thus significantly betting on young players.

  1. FC Slovácko have alongside Mladá Boleslav experienced the highest drop in points per game in the first half of the season compared to their points per game in the league in 2025. Whereas in the autumn Slovácko collected 1.3 points per game, now it's just 0.7, with the difference of -0.6 being the highest in the league along with Boleslav.

FK Teplice fired 10 shots in the last Chance Liga match against Mladá Boleslav, of which only three went on target. Slovácko hit the target with even just one of their 16 shots against Budějovice. Only České Budějovice (30.3%) have lower shooting accuracy in the league in 2025 than Teplice (36.1%) and Slovácko (37.1%).

Sunday's duel at Na Stínadlech Stadium thus offers an interesting battle between teams struggling with shooting efficiency, but going through different developmental phases - Teplice is betting on a young squad and can achieve a historic hat-trick of wins, while Slovácko is experiencing seasonal fluctuations but has not yet tasted defeat in the playoff round.
