SPARTA IN FREE FALL, SIGMA CAN COMPLETE REIGNING CHAMPIONS' MISERY

Image
May 24, 2025   AC Sparta Praha - SK Sigma Olomouc   Letná Stadium, Prague On Saturday, May 24, 2025, AC Sparta Praha will face SK Sigma Olomouc in the 35th round of the Chance Liga. The match offers a clash between two teams experiencing a significant results slump at the end of the season. AC Sparta Praha have lost four league matches in a row for the first time in Czech league history and have also become the first team to lose the first four games of a championship round in a single season since its introduction in the 2018-19 season. The reigning champions are thus experiencing an unexpected collapse at the end of the season. SK Sigma Olomouc have just one win in the last nine Chance Liga matches (D3 L5) and gained just six points in this timeframe – only České Budějovice have fewer points since matchday 26 (2; Mladá Boleslav also 6) in the Chance Liga. The Haná team is thus also going through a difficult period. AC Sparta Praha have conceded two and more goals...

FK Mladá Boleslav - FK Jablonec: STRUGGLING BOLESLAV HOSTS DEFENSIVE FORTRESS FROM JABLONEC

April 19, 2025 FK Mladá Boleslav - FK Jablonec The Lokotrans Arena in Mladá Boleslav will be the venue for an intriguing clash this Saturday between two teams with dramatically different current form. Home side FK Mladá Boleslav, sliding down the table, welcomes an in-form FK Jablonec, whose defense in recent weeks resembles an impregnable fortress. Boleslav is going through one of the toughest periods in its modern history. Coach David Holoubek's team has lost six consecutive league matches, most recently falling to Sparta Prague. Such a long losing streak was last experienced by the Central Bohemian club between November 2017 and March 2018. The current 34 points after 29 rounds represents the third-worst record for the club in the era of the independent Czech league – Boleslav was only worse off in the 2020/21 (27 points) and 2004/05 (30 points) seasons. "We're obviously going through a difficult period, but we're trying to maintain a positive atmosphere in th...

THE LEAGUE'S FAIREST PLAYER HEADS TO LETNÁ: BOLESLAV'S BLACK STREAK AGAINST TROUBLED SPARTA

AC Sparta Praha – FK Mladá Boleslav April 13th, 2025 Sunday's program of the 29th round of the Chance Liga will culminate at Letná, where the home team Sparta will welcome Mladá Boleslav. What makes this duel intriguing is that two teams currently struggling with poor form will clash. After a 1-1 draw in the last round against Baník Ostrava, Sparta has already recorded its 11th match without a win (5 draws, 6 losses) in this Chance Liga season. This is the most point losses for the Letná team at this stage of the competition since the 2019-20 season under Václav Jílek (then 16 matches without a win; 8 draws, 8 losses). Sparta currently has 56 points, which is the fewest since the same season (44) and 14 points fewer than in the previous one. Mladá Boleslav is in an even worse situation. The Central Bohemians lost their fifth Chance Liga match in a row, succumbing 0-1 to Dukla Praha. They thus recorded the most consecutive defeats in a single league season since the summer of...

CRISIS BATTLE: BUDIMIR TARGETS PERSONAL RECORD, CUCUMBER GROWERS COLLAPSE IN CLOSING STAGES

Image
CD Leganés - CA Osasuna April 7th, 2025 Butarque Stadium in southern Madrid will witness a clash between two teams caught in a results crisis. The home side Leganés, nicknamed "Los Pepineros" (Cucumber Growers), has lost their last three league matches, and if they fail against Osasuna as well, they would record their longest losing streak since September 2019, when they lost six times in a row. Osasuna has no reason to rejoice either. The Rojillos (Reds) haven't won for seven consecutive league matches (4 draws, 3 losses) and haven't scored in the last two. If they fail to score against Leganés, it would be the first time since March 2023 that they haven't recorded a goal in three consecutive matches. The mutual history in the top division is brief but clearly speaks in favor of Osasuna. Leganés has managed to win only once in five mutual duels in LaLiga - in the historically first encounter in November 2016 with a score of 2-0. Nevertheless, the Madrid te...
