Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2025: Elite Women's Golf Returns to Arkansas

Prestigious LPGA Tour event brings star-studded field to Pinnacle Country Club

From September 15-21, 2025, Rogers, Arkansas, will become the center of world women's golf attention. The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G enters its 19th season at Pinnacle Country Club with 144 of the world's best golfers competing for the title.

Tournament Favorites

Among the main favorites for victory is a trio of players with 11-1 odds: Lottie Woad, fifteen-time LPGA Tour champion Nelly Korda, and this year's major winner Miyu Yamashita. Sei Young Kim follows with 12-1 odds in her journey back to top form.

Defending champion Jasmine Suwannapura will want to build on her first victory since 2019. Jenny Shin presents an intriguing choice due to excellent results at Pinnacle Country Club with top finishes in her last seven tournaments.

Local Connections

The tournament has strong ties to the University of Arkansas through former students of the Razorbacks program. Stacy Lewis, historically the first unofficial winner from 2007, participates in her final edition before announcing retirement at season's end.

Maria Fassi and Gaby Lopez represent the growing influence of former Arkansas students in professional golf. Their participation adds emotional dimension for local fans and underscores the significance of the university golf program.

Historical Context

The tournament has unique origins from 2007, when weather shortened the inaugural event to just 18 holes. Stacy Lewis, then a senior at Arkansas, led after this "unofficial" tournament.

Since 2011, Walmart has served as title sponsor with P&G as presenting partner. The tournament has achieved significant growth in prize money and prestige, becoming one of only two LPGA Tour events with GEO Certified® Sustainable Golf Tournament certification.

Community Dimension

Tournament week extends beyond golf through various community activities. The charitable 5k @ the LPGA on September 13 supports the Mercy Health Foundation. BITE Experience @ the LPGA presents a culinary festival with over 60 local restaurants.

The program also includes free yoga lessons, a children's golf clinic, and a new self-care program for women in the Northwest Arkansas community. These initiatives reflect a commitment to connecting elite sport with positive community impact.

Pinnacle Country Club Challenge

The par-71 course with redesign by Robert Trent Jones Jr. provides a combination of technical difficulty and strategic challenges. Demanding greens and gently rolling terrain test the versatility of the world's best players.

The continuity of hosting all editions at the same venue creates a unique atmosphere and allows players to develop intimate course knowledge, often leading to exceptional scores.

The tournament represents perfect symbiosis of professional sport, community engagement, and sustainable practices in America's heartland.
