FM Championship 2025: LPGA Tour returns to Boston with record prize fund
28-31 August 2025, TPC Boston, Norton, Massachusetts
The LPGA Tour enters the second edition of the FM Championship with one of the highest prize funds of the season. The tournament with $4.1 million prize money has attracted an elite field to the iconic TPC Boston course.
Star-studded field
Norton welcomes 36 of the top 40 players from the Rolex world rankings, including all five major champions from 2025. A total of 70 LPGA Tour winners and 20 of a record 22 different winners this season create one of the strongest fields of the year.
World number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand will lead the favorites alongside world number two Nelly Korda, who is seeking her first victory of the season. Defending champion Haeran Ryu from South Korea returns to the site of last year's dramatic playoff triumph over Jin Young Ko.
Home hopes
Three golfers from Massachusetts compete on home soil. Megan Khang from Rockland serves as tournament ambassador and has been preparing for weeks for "her big week." Alexa Pano from Westborough, sponsored by the New England Patriots, and Brittany Altomare from Shrewsbury, who returned after maternity leave, complete the local trio.
TPC Boston as challenge
The course designed by Arnold Palmer and renovated by Gil Hanse with Brad Faxon in 2007 will play as par 72 over 6,533 yards. The longtime home of PGA Tour events offers familiar challenges, with the 18th hole as a par 5 presenting a key scoring opportunity.
Last year's drama
Haeran Ryu won last year in a dramatic playoff against Jin Young Ko, with both Koreans finishing at -15 after regulation play. Ryu decided on the first playoff hole after shooting rounds of 69-62-78-64 during the tournament.
Supporting events
The tournament week will include the CIBC Women's Leadership Forum with the theme "Ambition in Action" for 100 executives, founders and businesswomen. The event emphasizes the growing importance of women's golf in the business world.
With the strongest field of the season and a massive prize fund, the FM Championship represents a key stop on the LPGA Tour before the year's final tournaments.
