Znojmo will become the center of Czech American football on Saturday, July 12, when it hosts the final match of the Snapbacks League 2025. Tipsport Czech Bowl XXXII will offer a thrilling rematch of the 2023 final, where the favored Vysočina Gladiators will clash against the perennial finalists Ostrava Steelers. The most intriguing moment of the duel will be a historic quarterback battle with the largest age gap in Czech Bowl history - legendary Jan Dundáček (39) against young talent Amos Feranec (19).

Two Decades Apart: Experience vs. Youth

The main story of this year's final is an unprecedented generational clash at the quarterback position.

Jan Dundáček (39) - Vysočina Gladiators represents the patriarch of Czech American football with his Czech Bowl debut back in 2003. He has made several comebacks from athletic retirement and still dominates passing statistics at age 39.

"When I played my first Czech Bowl, my opponent wasn't even born yet," laughs Dundáček.

Amos Feranec (19) - Ostrava Steelers is a rising star with extraordinary talent and a difference-maker in the semifinal victory over Nitra. He is 20 years younger than his counterpart.

"Age is just a number, actions decide on the field," says the confident young quarterback.

Gladiators: Dominance Across Statistics

Vysočina Gladiators enter the final as clear favorites. They dominated both offensive and defensive statistics in the regular season with an average of just 7.1 points allowed per game, which is the second-best result in history. They recorded five touchdowns from kickoff and punt returns in the regular season and have the best pass protection - Dundáček was sacked only six times all season.

They have a deep roster of stars including Jan Dunovský, Ashton Heard, Petr Čermák, Matěj Majerčák, and Karel Peprný.

"Last year's semifinal defeat taught us that we can't take anything for granted. This year we're leaving nothing to chance," warns the Gladiators head coach.

Steelers: Fifth Attempt at a Title

Ostrava Steelers have reached the final for the fifth time since 2017, but are still waiting for a title. They achieved a sensational semifinal victory over the defending champions from Nitra. They are characterized by a contrast between an experienced defense and a young offense - Feranec and Pekara are 19 years old, Škvára is 22.

The team's running power is represented by Josef Škerek, who broke the game record for yards this year. The defense features veterans Petr Foldyna, Josef Bogocz, Martin Hloušek, and Łukascz Nielaba. Their only title came in 1997, and they have suffered four final defeats since then.

"After five attempts, it's time to bring the title to Ostrava," says cornerback Jan Telnar, who forms a defensive tandem with his brother Petr.

Key Game Factors

Statistical analysis reveals several decisive factors for the final duel. Pressure on Dundáček will be crucial - the Steelers finished last in the league in sacks (10). Fourth down conversions could be decisive, as the Steelers defense was worst in the league with 14 successful conversions out of 19 opponent attempts.

Special teams will be important, as both sides can score from returns - Gladiators five times, Steelers twice. The start of the game will be key, as the Steelers were trailing 0-14 in the semifinal, and such a deficit against the dominant Gladiators defense could be fatal.

"The top of the Snapbacks League has become so balanced that it's impossible to predict the final participants in advance," explains ČAAF chairman Radim Kroulík.

Expectations and Predictions

From the final duel, we can expect an emphasis on the running game, with the Steelers trying to establish Škerek. The Gladiators will likely choose a fast start with pressure from the first minute. A possible surprise will come on special teams, where both sides can score from returns. We can expect an emotional duel full of rivalry - it's a rematch of the 2023 final, which the Gladiators won 42-28.
