Atlético Grau - Grêmio

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Peruvian side Atlético Grau will face Brazilian Grêmio in a return match of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage. The duel between the home team and the Brazilian favorite promises an interesting confrontation of different playing styles and impressive statistical trends.

Grêmio has won their last three games against Peruvian opposition in CONMEBOL competitions, including the first match-up with Atlético Grau in the 2025 Sudamericana (2-0). The "Imortal," as the Brazilian team is nicknamed, can reach four wins in a row against Peruvian teams in continental tournaments for the first time in their history.

The Brazilian side also boasts an excellent record in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage, where they have not lost any of their nine games so far (7 wins, 2 draws). Only three teams in the history of the competition have achieved a longer unbeaten run in this phase of the tournament: LDU Quito (11 games between 2022 and 2023), Red Bull Bragantino (10 games between 2021 and 2024), and São Paulo (12 games between 2022 and 2023).

Grêmio's offensive efficiency in the current season is also remarkable. A full 58% of the Brazilian team's shots in the 2025 Sudamericana have been on target, the highest success rate of any team in the group stage. Their 19% goal conversion rate is the second-highest in this phase of the tournament – scoring six times from 31 attempts.

Grêmio is also the team with the most goals scored following a high turnover in the 2025 CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage (2).

For the home side Atlético Grau, the main threat will be Elsar Rodas, who is the player with the most tackles in the attacking half in the 2025 CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage (five, the same as Palestino's Ariel Martínez).

In the previous meeting in Brazil, the home team Grêmio outplayed their Peruvian opponents and won 2-0. Wednesday's encounter will therefore be an opportunity for the home side to get revenge and earn valuable points in the battle for qualification. Grêmio, on the other hand, is aiming to strengthen its position in the group and achieve a historic record against Peruvian opposition.
