JABLONEC ON FIVE-GAME WINNING STREAK HOSTS UNBEATEN-AWAY SIGMA
May 10, 2025
FK Jablonec - SK Sigma Olomouc
Střelnice Stadium, Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, FK Jablonec will face SK Sigma Olomouc in the 33rd round of the Chance Liga. The clash between two teams with remarkable statistical trends promises an interesting confrontation of different styles and specific game patterns.
FK Jablonec is experiencing an extraordinary period. The North Bohemian side has won five consecutive league matches for the first time since a streak of five victories between April and May 2018. Moreover, for the first time ever, they have won their first two matches in either the championship round or relegation round. The current form thus places coach Látal's charges among the best-performing teams at the end of the league season.
On the other hand, SK Sigma Olomouc presents a remarkable paradox in their performance in the playoff part. The Haná team is much more successful in away games of the playoff round than at home. Even more striking is the fact that they have never won a home game (3 losses) and never lost an away game (2 wins, 2 draws) in the playoff group. Sigma is the only team without an away loss in the playoff rounds since their introduction in the 2018-19 season.
Offensive productivity has been a recent issue for Sigma. SK Sigma Olomouc hasn't scored in either of their last two Chance Liga matches and recorded consecutive goalless matches in the league for the first time since February 2024 (then 3 in a row). Olomouc has failed to score in seven Chance Liga matches this season (including both games against Jablonec) and in five of them, Jan Kliment was not on the pitch.
From an individual perspective, Michal Beran stands out in Jablonec's lineup. The midfielder has played 1,544 passes in this Chance Liga season, accounting for 12.7% of all Jablonec passes. No other midfielder has been so involved in their team's build-up play this season, and the only midfielders to surpass the 10% threshold are Lukáš Kalvach (10.8%) and Jiří Boula (10.6%).
In Sigma's colors, Matěj Mikulenka's performances are worth noting. He completed the most duels of any Sigma player in the Chance Liga after the winter break in the last matchday against Baník (23). Among players with at least 700 minutes played in the league in 2025 (Mikulenka 732), only Yusuf Helal (18.4) and Erik Prekop (16.3) have more duels per 90 minutes than Mikulenka (15.7).
Saturday's match will thus offer a confrontation between two teams with different characteristics - a home side in excellent form with playmaker Michal Beran in a key role against a team that feels significantly better away than at home but has been struggling in attack recently.
