Inter Milan - Paris Saint-Germain

2025 UEFA Champions League Final, Istanbul, Turkey

Ahead of Saturday's culmination of the European club season, let's look at the key statistical indicators of players from both Champions League finalists - Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. The statistical data reveals the strengths of both teams and suggests where the decisive factors of the final clash may lie.

Inter Milan: Offensive Power and Defensive Stability

Lautaro Martínez has become Inter's offensive leader with nine goals in this Champions League season, which is jointly the highest number of goals by an Inter player in a single European campaign. In his last seven Champions League matches, he has scored eight goals and recorded 13 shots on target (2.2 per 90 minutes). The Argentine striker thus confirms his scoring form ahead of the key duel.

Yann Sommer is the leading goalkeeper in Opta points rating in this Champions League season with 276.6 points. Only two goalkeepers have recorded more saves than the Swiss veteran (49). This season, he has made 48 saves, which is the most of any Inter goalkeeper in a single Champions League season since measurement began in the 2003-04 season. In three of his last four matches, he made 6 or more saves.

Marcus Thuram is among the most fouled players in this Champions League season (24), winning 3 or more duels in each of his last four appearances. The French striker thus represents a constant threat to PSG defenders.

Denzel Dumfries has committed 19 fouls in this Champions League season, ranking him second in this statistic. In five matches of the 2024-25 season, he committed 2 or more fouls. The Dutch full-back will thus need to be disciplined in the final.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu has been involved in four goals in his last five Champions League matches (2 goals, 2 assists) and had 2 or more shots in four of his last five games. In this CL season, he has scored a total of four goals and recorded two assists, with only Lautaro Martínez (23) shooting more than him (20) among Inter players.

Alessandro Bastoni has made 762 passes in this Champions League season, 229 more than any of his Inter teammates. Only Marcus Thuram (24) has won more fouls than him (16).

Paris Saint-Germain: Technical Skills and Speed

João Neves has made more tackles than any other player in this Champions League season (57), including six tackles in both semi-final legs against Arsenal. The Portuguese midfielder thus represents a key defensive element for the French team.

Ousmane Dembélé has either scored (2) or assisted (3) in each of his last five Champions League appearances for PSG. He has had the most shots (60) and only two players have created more chances than him (35) in the 2024-25 season. In the calendar year 2025, he has jointly the most goals in the Champions League (8) and the most shots (39) of any player.

Nuno Mendes has made more tackles than any other player since the round of 16 of this Champions League season (25), making 3 or more tackles in five of six games during this period. With four goals, he is the top-scoring defender in this Champions League season and leads all defenders in tackles (45) and fouls won (26).

Vitinha has made the most passes of any player in this Champions League season (1,302), making 50 or more passes in 13 of his last 14 starts. This is the third-highest number of passes by a player in a single season (since the 2003-04 season).

Achraf Hakimi has the most Opta points of any player in this Champions League season (475.8). Only one player has more assists than him (5), while he ranks third in passes (1,135) and sixth in tackles (35). The Moroccan full-back has had 34 shots in this Champions League season – including 2 or more shots in five of his last six games – more than any other defender.

Saturday's final in Istanbul will thus offer a clash between two teams with exceptional individuals. Inter relies on Lautaro Martínez's scoring form and defensive stability led by Yann Sommer, while PSG benefits from Vitinha's technical skills, the offensive contribution of full-backs, and the danger posed by Ousmane Dembélé.
