AFC Bournemouth vs. Leicester City
Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, AFC Bournemouth will face Leicester City in matchday 38 of the Premier League. For both teams, this will be the final match of the 2024-25 season, hosted at Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth are unbeaten in all six of their Premier League home games against Leicester (W4 D2) and have won the last three by an aggregate score of 10-4. The Cherries will be looking to confirm this excellent record in the final match of the season.
Leicester's first Premier League win of the season came in the reverse fixture against Bournemouth. They last did the league double over the Cherries in the 2013-14 Championship campaign.
Bournemouth have lost their final game in four of their seven Premier League campaigns (W2 D1). This is the first time they're finishing a season in the top flight with a home game.
Leicester have lost their final league game in four of the last seven seasons (W2 D1), though they have won their last two as a Premier League side (vs Southampton in 2021-22 and West Ham in 2022-23).
Bournemouth have lost their last two Premier League games. They last lost three in a row last May, which were also their final three games of the 2023-24 campaign.
Bournemouth have scored 13 goals via substitutes in the Premier League this season – only Fulham (17) have netted more from the bench in the competition this term.
Bournemouth have conceded 46 goals in their 37 Premier League games this season – they had conceded at least 60 in each of their first seven campaigns in the competition. This represents a significant improvement in defensive stability.
Leicester have won two of their last three Premier League games (D1), as many as they had in their previous 26 (W2 D3 L21). They've also scored six goals across their last three league games, as many as in their previous 19.
Bournemouth have lost five of their last seven Premier League home games (W1 D1). Indeed, since the start of February only Ipswich (6) have lost more at home than the Cherries (5).
Leicester have opened the scoring in each of their last three Premier League games, as many as they had in their previous 27. They last did so in four consecutively in September/October 2022, with the fourth game in that run coming against Bournemouth.
The final duel of the season at Vitality Stadium promises an interesting clash between two teams with different trajectories at the end of the season. While the Foxes have found form in recent weeks, Bournemouth face a series of home disappointments. However, the historical record speaks clearly in favor of the home team.
