ZURICH CLASSIC 2025: WHEN ONE PLAYER IS NOT ENOUGH!

APRIL 21-27, 2025

TPC LOUISIANA, NEW ORLEANS

From April 21 to 27, New Orleans hosts the most unique tournament on the PGA Tour. The only team format in the entire season brings a new dynamic to the world of professional golf.

The golf world is once again preparing for a big party in New Orleans! The Zurich Classic is not just another stop on the PGA Tour - it's a unique opportunity to see world stars in non-traditional team collaborations that bring dramatic moments and extraordinary experiences. The 21st edition under the Zurich banner is coming, featuring record prize money!

The tournament is exceptional for several reasons. It's the only team tournament on the PGA Tour, where two professionals compete together as one team. It offers two playing formats - alternating foursome (alternate shot) and four-ball. A record $8.9 million is at stake. And the star-studded field includes Zurich ambassadors: Billy Horschel, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala.

The history of golf in New Orleans dates back to 1931, but the real breakthrough came in 2016 when the Zurich Classic transformed into a team competition - the first on the PGA Tour since 1981! Interestingly, Billy Horschel is the only player to have won the Zurich Classic both as an individual and as part of a team (with partner Scott Piercy in 2018).

Even the COVID-19 pandemic didn't stop the tournament's impact - when it was canceled in 2020, Zurich provided more than $1.5 million to charity to support the city during difficult times.

The Zurich Classic is also about helping the community. The tournament has brought over $700 million to New Orleans' economy since 2005. More than $30 million has been donated to charitable causes, supporting 200,000 children in need each year. Last year set a record with $3.3 million given to charity.

It's important to note that in 2006, the Zurich Classic was the first major sporting event to return to New Orleans after the devastating Hurricane Katrina, underscoring the tournament's solidarity with the local community.

You can watch the tournament from April 21 to 27, 2025, on Golf Channel or PGA Tour Live. Which teams will compete for the title? Watch for team announcements in the coming weeks! There's already speculation about star combinations that could change the tournament's dynamics.
