Musetti on the brink of disaster: Ball incident nearly ended semifinal dream

  Lorenzo Musetti nearly faced disaster at French Open. The Italian accidentally hit a line judge with a ball, received a warning, but advanced to semifinal against Alcaraz. The 23-year-old Italian began the match in dominant fashion, taking care of his American opponent in the first set 6-2. However, the second set brought complications. Musetti lost his serve for the first time in the match and despite efforts to level the score, found himself in a difficult situation. At 3-5 down came the moment that could have ended the entire match prematurely. Before the start of one rally, the Italian player frustratedly kicked a ball, which unfortunately struck a line judge standing behind the baseline. Although it was clearly an unintentional hit, the chair umpire immediately reacted and informed the crowd about issuing an official warning for unsportsmanlike conduct.
